Downriver (North toward Saginaw Bay)
This route is generally preferred for most charters and outings when first-time visitors to the area are onboard. Travel from our dock to the mouth of the river averages 45 minutes, depending on the vessel in use, river and bridge traffic, and weather conditions. Distance traveled varies with the event, amount of time scheduled, weather conditions, and the Captain’s planned course.
Upriver (South toward Zilwaukee) – Not recommended in the 2025 season*
This route provides more natural scenery than the North route and is scheduled twice weekly during our history tours. This route may offer calmer waters during inclement weather conditions. We generally cruise near the Zilwaukee Bridge depending on the event, amount of time scheduled, weather conditions, and the Captain’s planned course.
Longer events may utilize both North and South routes if desired.
*Due to the closure of the Lafayette Bridge for construction, the M-25 Veteran’s Memorial Bridge is experiencing heavy traffic. To better serve motorists and our community, we will avoid traveling the upriver route to reduce openings of the Veteran’s Bridge. We will continue to operate our most frequently requested route (downriver), which offers views of many key sites, including the USS Edson, marinas, the Saginaw River Rear Range Lighthouse, and Saginaw Bay.
