Set Sail for Sound: A Closer Look at the 2025 Entertainment Cruise Lineup

  • by

Bay City Boat Lines is turning up the volume on summer with a concert cruise lineup that brings rock, country, Motown, and acoustic favorites to the Saginaw River. Aboard the Princess Wenonah, live music meets waterfront dining for a one-of-a-kind experience that’s equal parts river tour and floating party.

With so many acts gracing the deck this season, we’re giving you the inside scoop on the bands who’ll be bringing the energy to our Rock the Boat and Carefree Cruisin’ series. Whether you’re a returning fan or a newcomer to the scene, here’s who you can expect to hear—and why these cruises fill up fast.

🎤 The RockShow Band – A Journey Back in Time

If you’ve ever found yourself belting out “Don’t Stop Believin’” on the car radio, The RockShow Band will be your cruise-night dream come true. Known for their high-energy performances and spot-on tribute to Journey, this band goes beyond nostalgia. Their frontman channels Steve Perry so convincingly, it’s easy to forget you’re not at a stadium show. They’ll headline multiple dates this season—including the fan-favorite ROCKtoberfest—and bring along a solid dose of classic rock hits that keep the dance floor rocking all night.

🎸 Daze of Glory – Classic Rock with Heart

Lovers of Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and Tom Petty will find their groove with Daze of Glory. These local legends bring a soulful, guitar-driven sound with a setlist that spans decades. Their chemistry on stage makes them a standout for anyone looking to relive the golden age of rock—with a cold drink in hand and the sun setting on the river.

🏖️ The Pool Boys – Summer Vibes, Yacht Rock Style

With smooth vocals and upbeat tempos, The Pool Boys deliver polished renditions of soft rock and party hits from the ‘70s, ‘80s, and beyond. Think Hall & Oates, Kenny Loggins, and The Doobie Brothers, paired with some surprise modern covers that keep things fresh. Their vibe is effortlessly cool, perfect for a mellow cruise that turns into a dockside dance party by night’s end.

🤠 Rebel Line – A Country Kick with a Rock Edge

Blending Nashville sound with electric guitar grit, Rebel Line is Bay City’s answer to modern country rock. They cover hits from artists like Luke Bryan and Eric Church, while mixing in original material that gets boots stomping. If your idea of a good night includes a two-step, a sunset, and a whiskey cocktail, this is your cruise.

🎷 The Soul Xpress – Motown, Funk & Groove

If you’re craving something with a beat you can’t ignore, The Soul Xpress delivers a full-body experience. Their brass section punches through with vibrant energy while the rhythm section keeps you moving. Expect covers of Stevie Wonder, Earth, Wind & Fire, and Aretha Franklin—plus some crowd-pleasing funk and R&B thrown in for good measure. They’re also making a special appearance on one of our Carefree Cruisin’ Saturdays.

🎶 The Music Doctors (Arlyn, Jeff & Donnie) – A Variety Prescription

Sometimes you just want a little bit of everything—and that’s exactly what The Music Doctors serve up. With decades of musical experience between them, this trio shifts seamlessly from pop to blues to easy rock. Their tight harmonies and audience rapport make them a consistent crowd favorite on our cruises.

🎙️ Acoustic Artists & Intimate Sets – Perfect for Carefree Cruisin’

If you prefer your river nights a little more relaxed, the Carefree Cruisin’ series is where you’ll want to be.

  • Jim McKeith, a seasoned one-man band, blends acoustic flair with soulful vocals and delivers familiar songs you’ll find yourself singing along to.
  • Elisabeth Christe brings a fresh country sound with honest lyrics and smooth guitar work.
  • Acoustic Cocktail lives up to their name with a mix of mellow favorites and unplugged pop songs.
  • Hind & Klein, featuring Greg Hind of the Little River Band, adds a touch of star power and seasoned musicianship to the line-up.

And don’t miss Laurie & The Lefties, a high-spirited band with a country twang and a whole lot of charm. Whether they’re doing old-school covers or bringing in originals, they always get folks tapping their feet and swaying along.

🎟️ Tickets Go Fast—Don’t Miss the Boat!

Cruises include a full dinner catered by Krzysiak House Restaurant and a cash bar stocked with soft drinks, beer, wine, hard seltzers, and canned cocktails. The Rock the Boat series is strictly 21+, but Carefree Cruisin’ allows under-21 guests if accompanied by a parent or guardian. Group discounts are available, and these events tend to sell out—especially with lineups like this.
